It was really hot (40 Celcius), and everyone goes on vacation at the same time in France (and leaves the old people at home). No air conditioning, no fans etc (because you would NEVER normally need it), and all the vacationers came home to shrivelled up corpses.
Yeah, that's right. 40 C = 104 F, which isn't terribly hot, but when you're not used to it I'm sure it is. Just more proof that the human species isn't adaptable I suppose.

Oh it's remarkable how the human species differs based on your ancestral bloodline. Put it this way, somebody from a middle-eastern, African, or perhaps Asian gene pool can tolerate heat much better than a North European, and more importantly, go without water intake for much longer too.NAD said:

I've been camping in the mountains in around 20 F (-7 C) and I think I could go a bit colder without becoming an icicle, but probably not much.
Heat has yet to bother me (highest I've been in is probably 120 F / 49 C), because I'm the DEVIL!

We've had close to -30 C here... Down to -20 is alright, after that it's admittedly a tad chilly.

We've HAD colder, but not that often. -30 is about as cold as it gets a standard winter.
