My #1 is Symphony X. Their forum is here on UMF. Thats the other sub forum here that I frequent.

Yeah, only just getting into SX, so haven't shown my face in the forum, but I'm loving what I'm hearing of their stuff so far.

Don't know if you like Nevermore, but check out Communic. One step further away from thrash, and one closer to Prog/power.

a lot of the people on the Nevermore board have never listened to Nevermore's music
it's really the only band board where you can get away with not thinking the band members are gods

The Symphony X forum is somewhat the same, but there's only one exception: If you start going on about Dream Theater, you'll have one side of the forum going on agreeing with you with all their heart and soul, and the other side endlessly complaining about how every thread in that subforum turns into a Dream Theater thread.

i can clearly see a paved road and i thought the tiny house-shaped things in the background were actually houses

It is a lake really, but a bit swampy around it! There are no houses in the pictures. Nothing like Texas for sure! The mountains are the beautiful thing about the Highlands.
