The Thread Where You Talk About Music You Like

Ah. OK well yeah that's you, and I don't think I've ever really agreed with you on death metal. The new album is different due to line-up changes and shit. They're for the better too...good deep vocals, quick and sharp riffs, great drumming, some bass standouts, and some drawn-out, epic numbers.

Carc, which Cathedral album do you think is best out of these - The Garden Of Unearthy Delights, VIIth Coming, or The Carnival Bizarre?

From those three (which is a tough choice), probably Carnival Bizarre, but for nostalgiac purposes, since I got drunk to it at university many, many times.:kickass:

Out of those 3 'the carnival bizarre.'

Cathedrals best albums are Forest of Quilibrium and The Ethereal Mirror. These e.p are also really good 'soul sacrifice' and 'cosmic requiem'.

Statik magik is basically the samething as comic requiem except with midnight mountain rather than a funeral request 93 version(which is also on the re-release of the ethereal mirror). I have the static magik with soul sacrifice on it.

Statik magik:
midnight mountain
hynos 164
cosmic funeral
the voyage of the homeless sapian

cosmic requiem:
comic funeral
hypnos 164
a funeral request - rebirth.
the voyage of the homeless sapian

I prefere the cosmic requiem version

What does everyone think of Celtic Frost - "Vanity/Nemesis"? I'm listening to it right now and I think it's pretty good.

It's not the most horrible thing ever written, but, if memory serves well, it is pretty much glam rock/metal for the most part.

All I know for sure is that they definitely LOOKED glam in that era, based on the live VHS I have of them.

Was not "Phallic Tantrum" a Hellhammer song, or atleast a planned one that was never finished? Something like that?

what i've heard of vanity/nemesis is definitely pretty cool and i will buy that when i see it

cold lake is uhhh, it's just bizarre. it's almost worth having for the novelty i guess, particularly because you can probably find it for $3 or so

Haha, well I ordered it from my local guy, where I get most of my stuff, but it was cut-out by his distributor, so it won't be coming through him. I might pick it up if I see it elsewhere though, but I'm not dying to have it.

I am quite enjoying "Monotheist".
