NOEVDIA will release an album of theirs this year called Kénôse, I've no idea what's on it though, but I doubt they've come up with a follow up for SMRC this soon.

A mate emailed NED about this, apparently it's an EP bridging SMRC and the 2nd part of the trillogy. It's meant to be about 25 minutes in length.

I've been listening to Necrophagist's Epitaph lately and while it's great and filled with awe-inspiring guitar solos, it does kinda get wanky. I prefer The Onset of Putrefaction.

I've been listening to Necrophagist's Epitaph lately and while it's great and filled with awe-inspiring guitar solos, it does kinda get wanky. I prefer The Onset of Putrefaction.

Epitaph isn't great. It's mechanical and stiff. It sounds good for about 3 seconds until you realize that OoP owns its ass in every possible way.

Yeah I like Onset of Putrefaction alot more. Epitaph is more mechanical like you said, even though there's actually a human musicians behind everything. Gotta admit that the instrumentation in Epitaph is technically more superior though it doesn't mean the songwriting is better. Either way I'm listening to Demilich now...Been on a death metal binge.

I own both Necrophagist cds......... I think it's a tie between the two. Epitaph has more catchy riffs while Onset feels less mechanical.
