this is what sucks most about IT in general.
clients are super demanding nowadays, I think mostly because their own businesses might not be running the best they can so they are on the edge as well.
No, when their own business is going shit, then they're not demanding, they're outright hostile.
In other news, my rage at outsourcing has reached anew level. We have to let a colleague go (who works hard, cares, and does a good job) as we can't put her on another team(no space available).
She was born in malaysia, and speaks fluent english and german, yet with a strong accent.Customers complain about once a weak, because they automatically thing we have outsourced to a useless asian/african country when they get somebody with an non european/amercan accent on the phone.
There are a few guys in the UK side who were born in african countries, and they've also had experiences with racism (in person) and suspicion of outsourcing when they were on the phone with the customers. Again, highly competent and really great colleagues. Luckily they are technician guys, whereas my colleague is just beginning.
Fuck corporations.
