AH, yeah. Excuse my fatigue. I actually read it as him looking into buying one of the entry-level cans, not the actual HD800.

The reason I asked is because I have an old pair of HD280 Pro's that I never use anymore and am willing to pass them on. If he intends on running them through an iPod though, forget about it. Tis ain't worth it. iPod won't adequately drive them.

but yep, I'm also thinking about the entry-level cans. I thought the in-ear style Senns I have were pretty good but turns out they're ok for working out and stuff, that's about it....not really for sitting in my listening chair and enjoying an hour or two of music.

I found I actually get to listen to music if it's in the evening while the wife is watching a movie or whatever and I use headphones. I can only use loudspeakers on the rare day that both kids are in school and the wife has rolled out to the Y or something. But with a new baby coming in March, I'll be back to square one. Headphones are where it's at.
