Well, if you wanted to... Wine... not that you'd (or anyone with half a brain) want to.
Winamp works well with ipods these days. Just install "ipod support" when you install, it's under "portable media player support" I believe. You may need to use Itunes to enable disk support on the ipod first. That'll also allow you to do shit straight from the winders explorer.

I'm pretty hooked on my Cowon D2 with a SD card to beef up the size. The thing is a tank (during the camping trip it was dropped in the sand repeatedly, rained on, had coffee and beer spilled on it, fell in the sand and got stepped on.... and its only got a few scratches on the screen (and they're minor).
The 35-40 hours of battery life is pretty fantastic as well

Don't you ever get...
I have this 40gb one I found in a parking lot that I use as a "borrowed" video storage... very useful when combined with this shitty DVD upscaler that I have that just so happens to have a USB port which can read pretty much any format I toss at it. Also region free, which is great since I love horrible foreign movies.
Speaking of "borrowed" videos, was watching a movie with a friend last night, now I typically don't mention when they're borrowed and this person is totally oblivious to the borrowing scene... usually one would question the blurriness in the video and say "hey, this wasn't obtained by legit means", not to mention the fact that the movie just hit theaters. BUT... the look on this persons eyes when someone walked across the screen. It was funnier than the god damn movie (which is ironically named Funny People. I suppose it's decent as a drama, but too damn forced).

about mp3 players, I agree with Erik. iPod or Zune is the only way for 100++ (even 60++) gig for a "reasonable" price. When my Creative Zen Vision:M 30go dies I'll buy a Sansa Clip or a Sansa Fuze. Incredible quality for the price you pay.

as far as i know there is no way to buy a zune in sweden but either way i would be v. hard pressed to find a reason that i should spend money on a thing that works with nothing instead of a thing that works with everything for no real reason other than "everyone has an ipod; therefore;"
