Hello bitches.

@ Ken, Aurel, Ass Magnet, etc: I'd do unspeakable things to the bass port of those speakers.

After doing much research, and itching to make some kind of purchase for myself that I don't necessarily need, I have decided to burn some loot on a pair of Sennheiser HD600's and a Little Dot MkIII headphone tube amp. Now to find 'em used.

Im in the mix of getting an HD600 with an upgraded cable.

Negatory. Never even been to Memphis. My friend went to med school there and she pretty much implied that no one in their right mind would ever voluntarily go to Memphis. Nashville kicks Memphis's ass. Literally. We have a huge battle every year and thousands of people are violently killed.

Aside from Corky's BBQ, Memphis hasn't struck me as all that great. And, the Target I went in smelled like Pine-Sol. And the smell of Pine-Sol makes me think of dirty toilets that have been cleaned with Pine-Sol but that are still dirty.

the music biz ... in deeper shit than I thought.

here in NYC, there are literally no more places to buy music at a store ... all the big chains are gone, with JR Music still holding strong and of course the sparse collections to be found in places like BestBuy.

there are a handful of second hand joints littered aroudn the city but that does not count really.

thanks Apple and Itunes ... and thanks for trying to fuck up the printed book biz next with the iPad ... this one really pisses me off as I love having books around (not that I read any)

I just imagine the near future where there will be a couch, a 3D TV, an iPad and an internet connection in people's living room ... will all media being delivered digitally.
how depressing.

This is all the Ipad is:

The Nook and Kindle already existed anyways. It was inevitable.

Swizzle: There is a certain perceived disconnect associated with all media being digital. I've come to accept digital distribution for games, but I too still like owning the physical copies of music and books.

I like the idea of the e-book readers for students that have to carry around heavy textbooks. I can see it how it can be useful there.
However for the average person reading Stephen King on the metro, its just trendy bullshit. i mean you only read one book at a time, no need to carry around 25 different digital ones loaded on your device .... its not like an mp3 player where you have 100 albums on shuffle.

hopefully it will also be possible for students to pirate books too, because this current bullshit where you have to buy $150 textbooks to use them for three weeks is ridiculous

Don't a lot of textbooks have CDs included with pdf files now anyways? Usually that's what ends up on torrents I'd imagine.

That's not a good argument. Since i have an MP3 player and I only listen to one album at a time, it's just trendy bullshit? what? A lot of people read 2-3 books at a time, and what about the environmental issues of publishing all these King novels where people just read it once and toss it out?
