So I finally received the results...weeks after they were supposed to be in...and no news wasn't good news. It was a papillary thyroid carcinoma...or cancer for those keeping score at home. I am scheduled to have the rest of the thyroid removed a week from tomorrow and am supposed to have some radiation treatment (radioiodine) a few weeks after that. Fucking yay.

No cancer is good cancer, but from what I understand about cancer of the thyroid, you'll more than likely be just fine after all is said and done

Yeah...the doc says for men the "best" cancer to have is testicular followed by thyroid. I told him I'll gladly take what I have if he promises to leave Jim and The Kids alone.

I'm on FB both as the label and as the man behind the filth. The label page is, of course, more for promotion, but it's rarely used for such and is a great way to get hot chicks on the list without glares from the spouse. Seriously though...FB has been good for catching up with some old friends. I met with a couple of them when I was in Mpls a few weeks ago. It had been 20 years for one and 12 years for another since I had seen them and it was like it had only been a few months.
