The USBM Thread

As the title suggests, this is the thread to talk about your favorite (or least favorite) US Black Metal bands. I myself, as most of you know, am a big fan and supporter of the scene. My favorite bands are Nachtmystium, Xasthur, Leviathan, and Krieg. My favorite USBM album is Instinct: Decay by Nachtmystium because it combines excellent Black metal with some of my favorite lead guitar work ever.

So everyone, what are your favorites/opinions?

I'm not much into USBM besides some of the stuff I've borrowed from cookiecutter.

The only USBM I ever bought was Black Funeral's Ordog, which is pretty good.

Fanisk rules though, I also love I Shalt Become (one of the first BM bands I discovered by my lonesome.)

Xasthur is not too bad, obviously. I have a bootleg Burzum tribute album, and Veil did a excellent cover of Ea, Lord Of The Depths. I bought the Veil album, Dolor, and was a little dissapointed. Not bad for USBM though.

I generally stear clear of USBM.

I still haven't listened to Fanisk or I Shalt Become. Though Eldrig or whatever that guy's name is from Fanisk friended me on myspace, his solo material is pretty good.

Yeah, on my first listen it was repetitive even for me.

I Shalt Become is good. Averse Sefira, Krieg (Destruction Ritual), Havohej, Profanatica, Demoncy (Up 'til and including Joined in Darkness), Wotanorden, Grand Belial's Key and Weltmacht. That basically covers everything I like.

Glad to see Averse Sefira mentioned. Austin has had very few bands worth even mentioning, but they are definitely one and I believe Watchtower is the other.

Have you heard Sakrefix from Austin? Good band though underground, I've talked many times online with the founder of the band.
Xasthur, Leviatha, Absu, Black Witchery, and Krieg are my favorite USBM bands, I want to get into more though and I really want to hear Grand Belial's Key.
