Duke Nukem is the video game equivalent of Chinese Democracy. Expect a lot of hype and a lot of disappointment.

I've got a massive interest in old games (not really specific games and series like you do though, I just find old consoles and their games etc interesting), and I've been reading up about SNK and the Neo Geo recently, and I want a Neo Geo so much! Not sure whether you've looked into the Neo Geo consoles too much (although you if you're interested in KOF then you might have!) but it seems like such a cool system to have, not just in the way that it's the ultimate king of 2D games (usually Beat 'em ups!) but also just because it's quite an investment for a retro console, considering a beaten up, incomplete AES system will often sell for £100ish...
To top it all of, the STANDARD controller is this bitching arcade stick! None of your joypad shenanigans here!

That is interesting, I haven't seen one of those before. My last roommate bought a huge joystick controller like that for the PS3. He insisted it was the only way to player Street Fighter.

Aye, indeed - I've been wanting to buy a NEoGeo AES for a long time, but I don't have the 200 quid necessary haha. They're not just good for fighting games though - Metal Slug is a prime example of SNK's talents outside of a one-on-one (or 3-on-3) shit-kicking
Currently resuming my Final Fantasy IV game. Just got up to Bahamut's Cave and I'm massively underlevelled for once - not even at Lv.50, I seriously need to be at Lv.60+ to stand a chance at getting Bahamut before I go onto the Giant of Babil section (having bahamut would make that SO much fucking easier!!)

Also, holy FUCK - my local Playtime Multimedia store has copies of Castlevania Chronicles and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for Playstatio! Chronicles is a reasonable 20 quid, SotN is a moderate 70 quid... I think I'll have to buy these. Seriously.

Nearing the end off FF9 as well. I'm at the end of disc 3, but I'm doing all kinds of leveling and skill learning and item splooging. I'd be playing Socom 4 online, but PSN is down sooo..... Yeah.
Oh! I picked up an actual copy of Final Fantasy VIII, brand new, off Amazon this morning for $6.50. BEAT THAT!

Love the levitation. Throwing couches and bodies at the enemy. Played that last year a bit. My favorite weapon was the fuckin pipe wrench. Just beat the shit out of them!

I'm still rounding off my Final fantasy IV save/s. I checked my older save (from when I was fucking 13 years old!) and realised that all of my characters are at Lv.99 and I have all the ultimate weapons - but only one Alert item, i.e. getting Adamant Armor for each character is nothing short of impossible on that save. On my current one, everyone's at Lv.50 or so but I have about 16 Alerts - so I can either level everyone up for another twenty hours and redo everything, or I can leave it.... hmmmmm.
