The what's going on in Thrash thread

I really thought there was going to be a bunch of Ellefson Smegma jokes. When I looked at it there were just Smegma jokes. I was impressed lol.

I'm done buying any merch from Dave...I almost said That Band, but c'mon. So I haven't looked into it. but it kinda sounded like, buy my currency or you can't get the really special stuff from the site?

I don't doubt the comments at all. I think Dave has finally run out of good graces this time.

I find it amazingly short sighted for anyone to put a $ in front of Mega and not assume the internet would make the connection. But I find it hilarious that Dave sacked Jnr to remove himself and the name as far away from what Jnr did as possible, them he went and made Smegma cash!

From what I'm reading the crypto is for the Cyber Army only. I haven't looked into because I'm not interested but people are suggesting it's only good for the MegaShop. That pretty much makes them gift cards not actual crypto.

I'm starting to think Dave's run out of good ideas!!

I might be wrong. But I don't think it was playing the songs that are his problem. Just that he wouldn't be able to thrash around like he was before and that to him that would be giving less than 100%

Yeah it was old age that caught up with him before he got really old :)
Actually that might be a mis-diagnosis but it was physicality not ability, missing ability in Metallica was Lars :)

They are making people show either vaccination status or negative covid test within a couple days of the show to gain entry. As someone who is double vaccinated and boosted and still wearing a mask nearly everywhere I appreciate the band taking the pandemic and the health of their fans seriously. In fact, I don't think I would have attended this event if there wasn't some sort of health screening process. You had to wear a mask while in line to get in the venue but after that it was anything goes. I kept my mask on for the entire show and had a great time rocking out to the Foo Fighters.

I don't care at all if the bands ask for vax status, in this country they will be forced too anyway. The majority of us can't get boosted yet (not sure if getting boosted sounds like fun or not :) ), because our roll out was so slow, but eventually they'll require us to show full vax of three before we are allowed into such venues. As it stands now we have to be fully vaxxed to visit pretty much anywhere but essential stores (supermarkets, fuel etc). Staff are supposed to check status via QR code at the door, and most of them are at the moment, but I can't see that lasting too long. Store keepers and staff are being abused at record rates and it will soon become a health and safety issue and the stores will fight back. They'll happily provide QR codes etc but they just wont have staff standing at the door checking or the government is going to end up being sued when someone gets the shit kicked out of them for doing their job.

Same here. It's going to be a while before I go mask-less. But I don't really mind wearing one that much.

Lol, Yeah, kinda clueless.
My question would be, can you only buy certain stuff by buying Smegma? The whole thing seems pretty stupid and pointless.

No me either. It seems like the practical thing to do. It's a concert. Shit would spread like wildfire.

Any idea how many active members in the Megadeth Cyber Army?
No. I have no idea. I was a member of those forums for years. Then they terminated them and made them basically pay forums. So I left. Then I think they made it so if you bu a Megafan pass the forums are "free" I'm not sure how it is now.
Lol I almost got kicked out for suggesting that if Drover (Sean) was such a big fan he should leave for the good of the band. The moderator did not like that one bit. And said something like I shouldn't say bad things about such a loyal member. But even funnier is that he left like a month later lol.

I would be surprised if they were even on Lars' radar.

If they were praising him they might be. I also wouldn't mind betting a comment like that one at the gig we watched last week was directly aimed at Metallica. They would have known Metallica were back stage (in their own private rooms away from the riff raff), and as much as they like to remind the crowd who they are, they would also want to remind Metallica who they are.

The indication I got was that Smegma was only good for that members stuff in the Megastore. I didn't read whether it can be spent on the stuff us everyday plebs can buy. And yes pointless was a word many were using.

Our government was talking about such mandates well before anyone was actually enforcing them. I have no idea who told them about each one because they certainly aren't smart enough to come up with them by themselves. Our governments didn't even think to design a system that allowed parents to have their kids vax certificates on their phone. They've figured out how to do it now but it was a case of the app being created before kids could get the jab and no one thought far enough ahead to suggest having more than one vax certificate on a device should be possible.

Yeah I remember the days of Megadeth Arizona. Pretty sure I remember it the same as you, free, then they closed the forums off to plebs and the cheapest way to get access was something like $30 for the basic membership package.

Maybe the moderator was Sean :)

Oh it definitely was aimed at them. I wonder if Metallica was even paying attention.
