The what's going on in Thrash thread

If they went metalcore it was after I stopped listening them because they were going a little radio. :)

Metal Archives are a good source for information but they aren't the best at following through with things. By their own rules Metalcore is not accepted so technically if a band turns metalcore they shouldn't be listed, yet it clearly states SF turned to metalcore 'later'

The same topic was going on in the Anthrax forum last year. I put up some vids. And no one challenged them. :)

Wow. He's so important! How's the view from the top of that cross?

It just goes to show how easy it is for the rich and famous to get publicity. There has probably be 100's of people rejected by border security, maybe even 1000's given it's the vaccinate rule they are pulling him on, yet this wanker gets caught out and it's everyone's fault but his own. Even the other tennis players are saying he should just follow the rules.

Well think of all the effort and time those people put in to being rich and famous, it's only fair they are treated different :)
Just imagine if things had been a bit different instead of this tennis wanker named Jokervic (or however he spells it) we could be talking about a tennis wanker by the name of Ulrich :)

A live Anthrax album has just (in the last few days) popped up on the GetMetal website. Given that a google search does not come up with said album, given that Scott Ian and Chucklefuck have not been bragging about a new release and given that it hasn't even got the Anthrax logo on it I'm going to guess it's an un-official release.

It's a Bush era live show, and I don't even think that's their pentagram, but it appears that the only place listing it so far is getmetal, not even discogs comes up with it when I looked, although I'm not a member there so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Apart from the shitty way to end a set, those last two songs really suck, I wouldn't mind hearing this.

Anyway here it is

Their pentagram has a very pronounced "A" for the upper right point to the middle. Unless they used a generic one back then. But I'm sure you're right that this is not an official release.
Hey look! Anti Social and Got The Time!! Wow! they haven't played those in years! I miss them in the set!

Okay, so I decided I didn't feel guilty about downloading an album which seemed in every way not to be official, so I downloaded the Anthrax album above. Although it's titled Live in Fitchburg, John constantly refers to the gig being Boston, not sure if that's a mistake or not. It is however recorded in redfly territory!

It's no secret I like SOWN and John's vocals and starting out with Potter's Field it's easy to see the production isn't great but John and the band were pretty fucking great. John then proves he can sing Joey era songs, although maybe not as good as prime Joey, with Caught In The Mosh and that timeless classic they never play, Got The Time. From that moment things go a bit down hill, not for the band, they still sound pretty fucking good for such an old recording, but the album. 11 out of the 14 songs are not complete, AIR/Parasite doesn't make it to Parasite and track 9 which is supposed to be Antisocial (another timeless classic they never play)/ Hypro-Glo goes for a total time of 2:57, they don't even make it to Hypro-Glo. If you get to the end, you are treated to John singing that wonderful Starting Up A Posse song that they should never have recorded, let alone played live. One highlight though is that Bring The Noize because it only goes for 1:57.

But I think I have worked out what this album is and it is actually an official release, but the band don't want people to know it. With a total of 14 tracks and a running time of 38 mins, this is Scott and Charlie testing the water with a new form of live set list for when they start touring again. "How to play for under 40 mins while still playing all of our back catalogue". If this gets good reviews we'll see the new Anthrax set list with 25 songs, all cutting off after the first chorus and still clocking into mid-tier festival slots at under 40 mins. If they decide to stop Joey talking to the crowd, otherwise known as letting people know they once knew Metalica they'll get 30 songs per set, enough to cover a whole career!
