The what's going on in Thrash thread

I get the impression (and I could be wrong), that he's a hired gun, someone who needed a job and they had one for him. Like I said I could be wrong but I see Sean and Phil as the drivers here and it's all about them because it's 'their' band

Yeah they are definitely the shot callers. Although lets face it. It's not like they have some huge long legacy to protect. But they could have gotten anyone. They must know that if they get someone like that, fans are gonna want to see them contribute.

I agree, they are pretty much starting from zero now, it's not like they had some killer releases and this is the follow up, they had 30 odd years of not being a band in the middle and people have forgotten them. Sean and Phil can drive this wherever they want to but it's not the band that made Eternal Nightmare, it's a band made up of other players who all have their own fans and could be contributors.

I also don't think they give a shit that Bobby (or anyone else) has their own fans to bring along and possibly convert. Look at the early interviews where they announced Bobby as being in the band, he was announced like he was a fill in. I may be a little harsh on Sean and Phil maybe they are all besties and behind closed doors Bobby's told them he doesn't want to contribute, but it just seems to me that Phil and Sean think this band is The Phil and Sean Band playing Vio-lence songs.

I just ordered one of the bundles. I really feel in the need for some brutal tunes!

I haven't quite figured out if I like that yet. I wasn't as impressed with CC's album last year as others were and I really wasn't expecting that much different from George doing some solo stuff, but I'm still not sure if I like it. I'll probably wait for the album and see what I think.

I hate Jay Jay, he's a dickhead, but the guy is not wrong here. The break down of album sales is fucking terrible, it's made even worse in some cases these days where bands are given an advance to make the album because that loan must be paid back before any other money is divided.

Where I do disagree with Jay Jay is that he's spent the last few years trying to be a business man in the music industry, he's tried to convince people he understands everything and that's why he leads the legal fights for Twisted Sister copyright issues etc, but he doesn't ever admit that his role these days is as criminal as the record company execs he throws hate upon. He's been managing bands for a while now, which means by his own admission he's taking 15% of something he's done almost nothing to create. He's been a promoting, again taking a cut of profits from bands. But he's happy to point out that others are screwing bands.

Jay Jay should stick to story telling like that story he created recently about Harley Davidson wanting to name a tyre Twisted Sister and how he strong handed them into backing down. That was one of his best fairy tales.

Here you go redfly, get into some new music and start rocking. This music comes to you complete with an A league rating from Dave Wright!!

It's got me stuffed why they keep using that fisheye lens face of the guy in the hoodie as their promo. It's fucking terrible. I don't think I've seen one good promo picture of the band, they all look like bored daddy's who escaped their well maintained music room. They aren't even a garage band! I'm starting to think The Flaccid would have been a better name.
