The what's going on in Thrash thread

We used to deliver fresh hotcakes and piklets (small hotcakes) 3 days a week to supermarkets. I used to pinch a packet of 6 hotcakes to eat in the truck, no store every missed them and even when they were on half price specials we'd be lucky to get rid of 20 packets a day. There was nothing wrong with them but in this country they just don't sell, people prefer to make their own. Even Maccas doesn't sell heaps of them. It's the reason I do laugh when I hear the common phrase that something is selling like hot cakes, because in this country they just don't sell.

I'm sure there a million things that sell better than hot cakes here as well. I'm not sure where the phrase comes from. I've actually never used it.

Yeah I forget not everyone calls it Maccas, apparently us and the Kiwis are about the only ones, yet pretty much everyone here does. It did get to the point at one stage McDonalds started advertising with the name Maccas and I believe they trademarked it here.

Not sure if that picture is part of it but apparently some of the teddy bear pics out there are because he has worked with, or continues to work with disadvantaged children and he often goes shopping for them.

Watched Ghostbusters Afterlife last night. I'm rarely a fan of current sequels, reboots, whatever the fuck they want to call them, but Ghostbusters is brilliant. Every director, producer and writer in the movie industry should take note of how well that movie was done.

I had my reservations at first, figured it would just be another shitty excuse to make money with no originality. But even though it relied heavily on the original story, i.e. the kids are related to original Ghostbuster, Gozer, Stay Puff etc it was really well executed. They didn't even remake the title song with some new shitty pop artist.
