The what's going on in Thrash thread

I do have the same fears about Nick's bio, but this is Fatal Opera and I don't believe David's really influenced the sound he's just played on a song which was written a long time ago. From memory it's not that different to the rest of Fatal Opera's stuff which was released before Gar died.

“Bassist David Ellefson and guitarist Chris Poland have come together to record one final song posthumously with their friend and former MEGADETH drummer Gar Samuelson. The new track "The Raven" is the latest single from Fatal Opera, part of a new twelve-song collection of demo material compiled as the group’s final release, entitled FATAL OPERA 3, out now on Combat Records ®.”

According to another Cameo with Dave the album's being pushed out to Summer in the US. He's not saying much other than dribbling about the current tour and that there might be some plan to release it while on tour, but there is no dates. There was also 15 seconds of another song in the background of a cameo video but I CBF linking it.

Some people are asking if Jnr might be the hold up in getting the album out. Dave still hasn't said who played bass and while Jnr might not have a claim he might have something to hold things up, although I don't know why he would. Either way he's turning people against the band with these delays.

I know they made Lucifer for a mainstream audience, and ruined it somewhat with Netflix took it over, but I always figured if Lucifer really came to earth and ran a night club it wouldn't have pianos and pretty lights it would be dark and have death metal bands.

I don't know that Lucifer was a huge hit to begin with but I'm sure putting a death metal club as one of the main scenes in every episode would have gone down a treat. :)

I know the two aren't related, I'm just nervous. Because Jr may not have chosen this guy. He did choose Thom Hazert! :D. And is in a band with that Lucid guy.

Jr said before that he didn't have the bass tracks because they were never his to own. They were the labels. I'm not sure how he could be the hold up. Or that Dave could keep his mouth shut about it if he was lol.

Yeah that's all true.

I did have higher hopes for something with Chris and Jnr, but I also realise that this thing with Fatal Opera is also a convenience thing, they might well have been asked to get together but I can't see the album being held up if it their schedules didn't meet because it's not about them. Jnr just needs to give us something to prove he's into metal, he's referencing Megadeth in some of his press releases now but it's not enough!

Both valid points. And presumably the album is actually recorded so the label can't be hating on the songs. I know Dave mentioned that vinyl is a bit of a hold up, but they wont hold an album release just for the vinyl, in fact it makes more sense to not hold it up in the hope people buy both copies. I guess it could be about timing, and hitting the US where tours will happen without the drama of overseas travel could be a big part of it too. But whatever the reasons I'm sure people are getting sick of it.

For me the best cinematic representation of Lucifer is at the end of the movie Constantine. Don't know the actor's name, but damn in less than 5 scenes of screen time he fucking kills it.

I don't think I've seen that. But I probably also shouldn't admit to watching the tv show Lucifer either.

Oh shit! That's what it is! They need time to make 3 or 4 different versions of the album like they did last time to fully milk us! And then hit us with the fucking vinyl!
