We've got gigs starting up again now so while bands can't yet play to full capacity venues they are at least able to play some music

Haha Christmas is nearly more fun as an adult. You use the excuse that it's about the kids and your excitement is because you know how excited they will be. But as the person who buys and wraps all the stuff you know what's there and when it comes to games you know how much fun it will be, however you've had to keep the secret for weeks or even months. Christmas Day is the payoff!

I like most of what Alex does and good luck to him for broadening his talents with jazz etc but sometimes I think he comes off as a bit of a "I'm better than you are" type of person.

Like a gun enthusiast
Thankfully we don't have a lot of those here. Of course we have guns and we have some nutters but most people here aren't dickheads with weapons. They are used for a purpose and only that purpose, we don't have that many dick sizing competition with guns. My old neighbour used to carry a 30:06 behind the seat in his ute and we all knw how to use it, but it was there for protection from animals (snakes etc) when we were up the bush cutting wood. It was never on show and it was never loaded. Now days with a few rule changes most people are even more responsible and lock their guns up in proper lockers. It's really only the outlaw motorcycle gangs and deadset gangster drug lords that walk around armed, unhinged and unsafe.

It's probably hard to admit someone did something better than you
He talks about how he'd had enough of metal, Testament were not going to be a headline band and he'd never played a headline gig yet Transiberian Orchestra (or whatever their name was) offered him that chance. It seems clear to me Alex didn't leave Testament because he was better, he left because he thought he deserved more. Fair enough to someone who thinks like that but saying anything derogatory about your replacement in the band you didn't want to be in is a shitty thing to do.
