The what's going on in Thrash thread

This country is pretty much run by Murdoch Press. I don't think it's as bad as some people say, (i.e. that he controls the government), but I also think he doesn't need control, he just needs his newspapers and TV stations. He, well his media reach, has influenced every one of our elections for the last 15 years, some people say Murdoch only fights for one side, but he's had Prime Ministers on both sides voted in and voted out simply because of the way his media reports things. We don't need an unbiased media reporting real facts, we have Murdoch printing what he wants us to hear!
That sounds very familiar! We also have a guy named Murdoch who has his "news" station do the same thing since 9/11. Except they definitely only play for one side. He's got the Midwest and the South eating out of his hand. Not to mention nearly the entire GOP.
I wonder if they're related?! :p

Nah couldn't related, must just be a coincidence!
He's a prime example of why we should keep fossils in the ground.
I think his TV ownership here has changed because we had some media laws change which meant he couldn't have a monopoly on all media services but he still owns way too much.

They shouldn't play old songs, they should just play new songs that are better than the old days, or old songs that sound better, or better songs that sound older. Shit I don't know what they should play!

Kenn Nardi from Anacrusis released a second solo album back in August. Not much available on bandcamp but there is a few songs, as well as a live Anacrusis album.

Not sure if it genuinely is him but a guy calling himself AnacrusisVOX is on Metal Archives addressing some poster who shit all over his vocals. It's quite a well written reply to an internet wannabe even if it's not Kenn.

His basic defence was, I don't proclaim to be the best, I release my music for free and don't listen to it if you don't like it. It will be interesting to see if the idiot comes back with something. M-A does have a reputation for dickhead posters who think they are edgy.

Even his latest, which is only a single CD, goes for over an hour. The new one however only has a few songs to preview on BC so it's going to be harder to get a feel for such a long album.

I was just reading M-A and the guy complaining about Kenn's vocals had to respond to Kenn's very positive message with more horseshit about not being able to sing. He even posted a clip of Dream Again (from Manic Impressions) and asks what the noise is a 9 seconds and whether Kenn's clearing his throat. This dude's pretty much describing what he doesn't like, which is fair enough, but he's making out like Kenn's wrong in what he does and that Kenn should change the way he sings. Classic "I don't like what you do, so you are wrong" ideas.

Talking to people like that is like talking to marble. Agree with everything I say or I'm just going to keep going and going.
I still haven't decided if I'm going to get the entire Anacrusis catalog or not.

No point getting it, Kenn sucks :)

Download whatever you can off their own website, listen to it and decide whether to spend the cash on physical copies. I don't even think you can buy directly from their site now so the label is the only one making money on a physical copy. The band have always had a free policy and their website has got pretty much everything Anacrusis and pre-Anacrusis on it.

The 4 Anacrusis albums are different so liking one may not mean liking them all. The same goes for some of the earlier stuff that's on the website. It's great that a band has giving fans the opportunity to listen to their back catalogue for free. I have no idea how big their fan base is but it's rare to see bad press about them so giving away their music for the last 20 years seems to have worked for them.
