They might deserve it. I dont know how hard they work or what their intent is. Katatonia do have an image though, as well as Britney or Kylie. Maybe if they signed to a major label and were paid to dance around in dead tight hot pants they would? I dunno cos I dont know them

Well, it's obvious that they work harder than most of the pop bands. Bitches like Britney even don't bother writing their own lyrics or music! They are only concerned about how their tits look and have to learn some ridiculous dance steps en "sing" the words they have to
yeah but i'm sure the guys who write the song, the guys who create the dance steps, the guys who draw the clothes, and the guys who shoot the video, the all work as hard, and maybe even harder than katatonia. and to be honest, i think they have a biggest pressure on their shoulder than let's say katatonia's drummer. and all in all it demands some real skills to have the right songs, the right steps, the right clothes and the right video. i'm not kidding.

Its not obvious to me. Does the whole band write the music and lyrics? If not then you've just critisined the ones that dont. I dunno much about them so I dunno.
Dont get me wrong, I despise the major record industry but plenty of metal bands rely on on image and marketing as well, dont forget that. So that becomes the same thing in a way.

yeah but it goes the same for many bands, of any style, and it's nothing bad to have a visual show supporting your music. look at samael or iron maiden.
