I'm a inconditional ampsim user for tracking DI's.
There are millons of impulses but only some few are good enough.
I hate the idea of having to combine 4 or 5 impulses in Lecab2 to get a decent sound, it devours my CPU.
So, invest your time in getting some few good impulses and forget about thousand mic positions and mic combinations.
Most times, simple things work better.

You can easily make one combined impulse of your favorite combination.
Just send pulse sample through lecab and you will get such combined impulse, no deconvolving necessary.
Sidenote: I don't have a problem with big libraries. I actually prefer the flexability thats offered by them as long as the quality is good as well. I have a nicely organised loader and menu for my impulse collection so it makes dialling in tones from the huge libraries easy.
