This board needs mods but i don't think they should just be able to ban people who slightly get on their nerves (for example lets say someone passionately loves Cradle of Filth, they shouldn't be banned for this). Only people who should get banned are flooders, street teamers, trolls etc. If anyone is going to be banned for "bad behavior" it should only be after several warnings.
As far as locking threads goes, I think only repeated threads, threads that have lost all relevence to the music (ie have turned into people calling eachother fags) should be locked. If a thread flows from one topic to another relevent topic (ie NSBS to the ideals of nazism) it should be left going. I think a lot of it should be left up to the mods judgement and thats why it is important that good mods are chosen. For example when Black Pyrat or whatever the fuck his name was came and started a dozen polls like "Best Metallica Album" "In Flames vs Ramstien" and so forth that would be a good time to use reason and delete the threads. They were retarded and led to nothing but flame wars. Anyways I think mods would help this forum out a lot but I really think there needs to be several of them to keep them to keep eachother in check. They should also have to confer before banning anyone. Anyways having mature smart mods who know when to use thier power is the most important thing, and this forum with out a doubt needs mods...

if the mod is not competent enough to decide whether a user should be banned, i suggest a new mod. this is an internet forum, not a country. it's good to have multiple mods so that problems are corrected faster, though.

There has to be double checking when it comes to such issues as banning because people get drunk off power very easily, usually if there is a group, reason will win out. However the point is moot since mods can't ban members...

I dont know what your problem is with me Polarity and some others... forums are about discussions and opinions of them.. i came onto this forum to learn about new bands , genre's etc.. im very old school (metal from the 80's) ... and was getting bored listening to the bands from that era... so i decided to seek new bands by reading your "intelligent" discussions.. but all i see is people whine because someone else's opinions about music/bands dont agree with them or because i dont know enough about a band(s)/genre as much as you but im willing to learn... i didnt come to this board to start fights etc.. you single me out Polarity but you seem to leave out the part where you started with me and not the other way around.. if i said things against you in some of the other threads.. then people should see who had started it and not try to ban people who may not know much about BM, DM etc.. and looking to learn... other then discussions about a common subject.. forums are usually a place to make friends who have the same interest... i'm only here to learn about metal that i havent listened to yet not make friends.. if someone wants to be friends fine.. if not fine also...
