Thoughts on Daath?

I like Daath... I only have their new album. Great vocals, and the music is pretty groovy.

I like it, pretty groovy album, Subterfuge and Ovum are pretty damn good, catchy vocals in Ovum tho, but whatever, I wonder if they put a good show live

In never bothered to check them out. I heard they were metalcore-ish, accesible "death metal" on ROADRUNNER records. That was enough to turn me away.

I don't know what they are talking about that they are metalcore-ish I don't see any similarities with metalcore

Lack of solos? Yes. But the solo in Subterfuge owns! In the middle of the song they bust into an Opethish breakdown and an amazing solo follows that. Pretty impressive actually.

That's the only song of theirs that I like. The rest to me is pretty bland and generic and not really worth a second listen, if even a first.

By the way, that solo is pretty generic too.
