A Line of Deathless Kings was all but a return-to-the-roots album, actually a bit of a step away from it again, singing primarilly clean again etc.
This might not be your strongest case
Like he's done on 3 other albums? It's the same as most bands do these days, make an album with a little bit from every album. Only this album was too much regression for my taste. It doesn't mean there's no good songs there. There's at least 3 songs that I like a lot..but the overall feel of the album is mediocre.
