If Opeth doesn't count, I guess it will look like this:

3: Death "Perennial quest"
4: Death "Crystal mountain"
5: Dark Tranquility "Lethe" - and this was only because of the acoustic intro & outro.
Erhmm...I don't listen to death metal at all, except these few tracks, so it's pretty hard to find some.
I don't listen to thrash either. The only thrash albums I have is Testament's "The ritual" & "Low" & Machine Head's "Burn my eyes". If Pantera is considered thrash they would be included as well. I guess it would probably look like this:
1: Machine Head "Davidian
2: Pantera "Shedding skin"
3: Testament "Legions (in hiding)"
4: Machine Head "Blood for blood"
5: Pantera "Mouth for war" (I guess. Or else "No good (attack the radical", "Regular people (Conceit)" or "Slaughtered")
As I said I don' t listen to thrash, so it's limited what I can select from. Oh yeah, I also have Forbidden's "Twisted into form" lp, but I wouldn't consider anything from that in my top 5. The only songs I sometimes listen to is "Parting of the way", "Infinite" & "Spiral depression".
Why don't we do an "favorite 80's crap metal song (hair metal)" thread instead of the same things over & over, although that would probably be lightly uninteresting, as it has started to bore me just naming stuff that I like.
