what about: spawn of possession noctambulant?

Samples sounds really awesome for Noctambulant. Pre-ordered it the other day myself. Henrik have you ever heard Aurora Borealis? They have a new one coming out soon, I bet you would like it as well.

Listened to a couple of AB tracks about a year ago, but didn't really like them. People keep going on about how good they are, though, so I should keep an eye out for their new release.

The only one that has a good chance of making the end of year list is:
Pharaoh - The Longest Night

Still need more time with Place of Skulls, Satyricon and Enslaved, Ministry
REAAAAALLLY looking forward to the new Fall of the Idols album, as well as most of the rest of the I Hate stuff. Like Nad, can't wait for Tool, PJ

Tony Laureno (ex- Nile) drums on the new one. Derek Roddy and Tim Yeung have worked with the band in the past. Actually its just a one man operation, Ron Vento, he is also the singer for Erik's favorite band I.C.E. too.

The Ocean was relased in 2005. Is it one of these US/Euro battle again?

Good albums :

Tenhi - Maaäet
Drudkh - Blood in Our Wells
Mogwai - Mr.Beast
Summoning - Oath Bound
Cult of Luna - Somewhere Along the Highway (needs more listens in fact..)
Wolves in the Throne Room's

I'm interested in all the albums on your list. They're on my to do list. I forgot about the Cult of Luna though.

seriously how many listens have you even given this? 1½?

Once. I know I'm the biggest proponent of giving everything ample chance, but there are just some albums you gotta let go...same with the new Evergrey, I knew on one listen it just wasn't for me.

That said, I'll revisit Enslaved eventually.

The new Queensryche makes me feel icky, if only because half of it wasn't even written by the band.

Devin Townsend's "Synchestra" will definitely find my end of the year list. Either that, or this will be one HELL of a year.

HEY: I wonder if Drudkh came in the mail today!
