I really dig these blind test, I feel they help us a lot, so I did one today.
I double tracked 60 seconds of riff. At 30 seconds the riff repeats, but something changed before the amp in the signal chain.
I wanted to see if the change made a difference in multiple amps, so I reamped the same DIs through two different amps (same DIs in amp1 and amp 2). The only post processing is filters at 75/11.5k
Which did you like better? The first 30 seconds, or the last 30 seconds. Please excuse the playing (and shitty tone) and just note how the tone changes. I hope the tone is good enough to judge the changes.
I tend to do these tests a lot on my own, so I will try to share the results when I do. I appreciate the time it takes when others do this, it has certainly shaped how I purchase some gear (like new cables!)
