TS9 - Maxon OD820 shootout

I recorded two clips , one with a Ibanez TS9 another with a Maxon OD820.
Cab was thermion with celestion 30s, my custom made tube amp (not great for metal but works for the test). Straight into the RME 800

Settings were on both: GAIN: 10:30 oclock, TONE 12 oclock, VOL 12 oclock

They sound exactly the same, which makes me really happy cuz I have a $40 TS7 (which I have photographic evidence to prove is identical to a TS9)

Actually they dont, but the difference isnt worth the price i guess. Thats why i made an exact clon for $50 bucks haha

I agree, they sound different, I'm inclined to go towards the TS-9, it sounds more creamier :S sorry cant think of a better xplanation, the OD 820 just sounds bit more bity

I would say I like the TS9 more, however in a mix I would consider using both on seperate tracks.
