TSE X50 Beta

This is the best VST amp in existence.

2nd EDIT: CPU usage has my machine running a bit hard, but not as extreme as I first thought.

I've been playing my 6505+(boosted with a TS) captured from the speaker output with a countryman type 10 all day long and just switched to using the X50(boosted with TSE808) and it's really close.

You're way too humble about all of this. Tilt your head back and walk with a seven figure swagger. Your skills surpass the people at the companies that rake in money like it's leaves under a tree.

P.S.
I would love for you make an amp that doesn't simulate anything. One that sounds so ideal that it is physically impossible in the analog world. I've always wanted that to happen and after hearing this, I know you are the person that can make that happen.

P.P.S
Where does one donate?

The CPU usage is indeed very high. If that is what it takes to get this kind of quality that definitely isn't a problem for me. If it can be trimmed without sacrifice that will be a plus.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it, even when you have the real amp available :p

That would be an interesting project :kickass:

The only way to donate at the moment is by registering a moneybookers.com account and then press 'send money' to onqel@online.no .. :erk:

I would rather make a dedicated poweramp plugin to be honest..
But is it so hard to implement preamp bypass in plugin (like already implemented poweramp bypass)?
Yes, dedicated poweramp plugin will be very cool, because of existing poor choice.

No it's not hard, but it would put extra stuff on the cpu (not THAT much :)), which I don't want since I want the cpu-usage to go _down_ :saint:

Used the plug-in for about 3 hours last night with no problems or crashes! I'm really impressed with how it sounds and it will defiantly be one of my new "goto" plugins!

My only concern currently is with the CPU usage being quite high, even on low quality I found it hard to run more then 4 instances of it on my Intel Q6600. I will admit this processor by today's standard is quite slow, maybe its time for an upgrade!

Onqel, thank you for making this plug-in, I think its incredible you create something like this in your own time and by yourself. Out of interest, are you a software developer for your day job?

I have a Q6600 myself .. I want to upgrade :loco:

And no, I'm don't work as a software developer as a day job.. I'm a ship electrician (from 12VDC to 690VAC)
I've spent a lot of time on this modeling-journey..

A question about the modelling process: After releasing the BOD and X50 are you now much faster to finish new amps/stomps/etc?

Because you may now have finished high quality building blocks of capacitators, resistors, tubes models in your digital tool box? :)

I'm not sure as I'm always trying to push things one step further (just like anyone who does this) :p

If this is really true...

:worship:

Hahaha! It's true, I just had to learn everything from C++ to nodal analysis, numerical methods and so on.. I'm still a vegetable :p
I got help in the beginning on the basic modeling stuff from LePou.. We had(have) a private forum (me, Alu and LePou) for discussions regarding some subjects/issues along the way.. But in the end we have three different approaches/models.. So people who are telling us to team up.. It's been silent for a long period though :p

I just wonder what the guys from Guitar Rig,Amplitube,Revalver think of the ampsim that you guys made and give them for free? Since many folks agree that the sound is much better? :kickass:

They must be thinking about improving their models.. I know I would :loco:
