TSE X50 Beta

Cool song, not my exactly my cup of tea but I like the production ;)
Which version of Reaper are you using? When does it happen? Instantly when you add a new instance of X50 ? I've run multiple instances of B3 here without a problem.. (Reaper 3.75, Vista 64, intel quad core Q6600, 4GB ram)

Im running Reaper 3.73 so that might be the problem. I will update and get back to you. Thanks again

i´ll be posting a new mix (long time from my last one) next week and sure i´ll use x50 for guitars. best ampsim i´ve used. great work onqel.:worship:

just a few thoughts after playing around with it some more....

- the bass knob could have a bit more range....the real 5150 can get REALLY fat with resonance and bass high up, x50 doesn't quite match here (not that you would need it, just thinking out loud...)
- presence control seems to behave differently on the real 5150....it barely does anything up to 7/10, and then really starts to drastically alter the tone, so you can get a lot of different textures by adjusting presence vs treble. x50 is different here...

just minor observations though. overall this is the best ampsim i've ever played. i really love the FEEL of it. it feels much less detached from your playing than most sims. and it sounds great. stellar work man!

i couldn't test it with the monitors yet (which are new, and i'm not used to, i always did headphones stuff) but just came here to say it works like a charm on my setup. Not a single glitch in hours and hours of fucking with it.

Reaper, UX2, AMD Quad Core, 4Gb RAM.

Onqel, you fucking beast, i love your ampsim.

Onqel, I gotta thank you for this amazing ampsim. I've never played a real 5150 in real life, but i can feel this thing is real close since the pick attack and response sounds great in this thing. I don't wanna repeat what anyone else said in terms of feedback, but it just might be cool to 'normalize' each power amp volume in order to make easy comparisons( I'm guessing the bias volume does not change the perceived tone)

thanks again, and please don't make us wait this long for your next ampsim :D:D:D:hotjump:

and btw MAKE A MESA MARK IV SIM RIGHT NAOOOO!!!!:kickass:

I hated how the presence control was working so I changed the logarithmic potentiometer to a reverse one to get stuff happening all the way from zero to ten.. I´m aware that it´s not true to the real thing, but I think it gives the user more control over the high end in general..

The resonance control is acting as if you had connected the output of the amp to a hotplate/speakeremulator.. it doesn´t actually see the impedance of a "speaker" at this point.. The resonance/presence controls are compared to reamps of a real 6505+ and the upper and lower extremes of the frequency response of the poweramp is very close. (The stuff happening in between is changed a little (knob response))

Anyway, I´m on vacation in middle-norway so back to the beer ;)

(Edit: please no new ampsim requests :p )

:kickass: :kickass: :kickass: :kickass:

onqel, thank you so much man. this thing sounds excellent. So heavy even with no TS in front.

LOVE the controls layout. Please don't remove anything.

Just wanted to say that all you dude's clips sound awesome! I'm on a mac, so I can't try this out, unfortunately, but it seems like onqel did a great job on this. :D

Something I put together too fast to be too good...

sorry for the late starting on the heavy rhythms..

Finally got to around to installing this. Holy shit John!! This is my lecto replacement. What a feeling playing with this and greg's impulse...geezuz...suck me sideways. This is the most realistic feeling amp sim to date. John you're a god!

I tried this out last night. This pawns the 5150 in Peavey's revalver. The first power chord I hit I knew this was my new sim for practicing guitar.
