You know what really irks me about that statement? Guys like Lemmy and Robert Halford were/are the literal embodiment of Rock 'n Roll but is Motorhead or Judas Priest in the R&R Hall of Fame? NOPE. They may as well be defecating on Lemmy's grave at this point and insulting Priest's influence. Total shit.

Also, if you think metal is taking a while, prog rock will take at least twice the amount of time to receive that same recognition with bands like Genesis, Gentle Giant, Marillion, King Crimson, etc.

Hawkwind, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, The Edgar Broughton Band, Procol Harum, and Van der Graaf Generator will take eons, for sure.

Oh, the fact that those bands weren't already inducted by the '90's, at most, is soul-crushing.

They also seem to have an inexplicable disdain for glam rock, hardcore punk, and protopunk.

Oh, I have a friend who is into punk and the fact that the Dead Kennedys or Black Flag aren't in just makes him feel like breaking a chair over someone's back.

Fucking Tupac got in this year over the MC5 and The Zombies. Motörhead weren't even nominated.

The worst part was that I almost expected the Hall to at least get that right but I clearly had too much faith in their competence.

I'll start to care about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when they induct Hasil Adkins, until then it's just some plastic bullshit to me. Lemmy would probably laugh at his band's induction because everybody knows it's meaningless trite.
