Ulver - Kveldsjanger question.

For a few parts on the first track, totaling no more than a minute of time, Garm attempts some deep, soulful folk-type vocals. It's off-key and clearly well beyond Garm's range, so it comes off sounding like Swedish Chef attempting a Norwegian war chant. I think that's the only part of the album where the vocals are like that, so it's not enough to ruin the album; the rest of the vocals are just atmospheric chanting, which works much better.

Is it "Østenfor Sol Og Vestenfor Maane?"

Perdition City, the album that Ulver released after Themes, is a brilliant work of electronica and one of the best releases of 2001. The close-minded types will probably not be able to appreciate it, but those with a fondness for good music, no matter what the genre, will enjoy it.

Damn straight. Perdition City is very awesome. Behind Blackwater Park, I think it is the best album of 2001 hands down. Trickster G, or whatever his name is this week, does great things with anything he touches, even if he chooses somewhat ridiculous names for himself.
