Universal tracklist and artwork

Great! I can't wait for the release.

I want to hear the drums, Asgeir place it's hard to fill.
Hope to see that cd in my country, it's hard even to find some Gorgoroth cd's here =/.

Anyway, i can't wait!!

Greetings from Argentina...and yes, my english language sucks XD.

Sounds interesting! The artwork looks good, can't wait to hold it in my hands. I realy appreciate the comments of the band members, it really gives me the feeling that you care for your fans, and they (we) are gratful for this, I'm sure! A million thanks for informing us! (I don't usually leave my comments here, since I don't feel the urge to write meaningless stuff here, but I keep tracking what's going on, silently :) ) Rock on! You're the best!

God.. 5 years since my last log-in... Well a new album is quite a special occation, so consider me in. Can't wait to hear Universal. It has been a long time and I'm in need for some new Borknagar.

Can't remember clearly, but wasn't the song My Domain already planned for an older release? Or written a couple of years ago?

Anyway, love the artwork and looking forward to get the vinyl edition!

It was intented for The Archaic Course, but the guys were not satisfied with the recording, so it was excluded from that album. Now ICS Vortex will sing on the song alone.

It is likely because the song was written back in the days Simen was in the band and I think Oystein said he had always intended for Simen to sing it.

EDIT: But also there seems to be MASSIVE confusion over who sings on this album for some reason. Vortex sings only ONE song. Vintersorg does the other 11. Andreas is a much 'better' growler than Simen, and I think in that respect he fits Borknagar more. Mr. V is more than capable of singing clean as well and though I prefer Simen to him, he is also a great pleasure to my ears :D

Vintersorg is the main Borknagar vocalist and has been for quite some time now, there should be no doubt about that. Vortex is our previous vocalist whom we have very good relations with, so he was brought in to do a guest appearance on this album. I don't think this is very uncommon, so I can't really see why there's such a confusion ;)

Yes there is some confusion alright. Someone posted on another forum that I read, thinking Vortex is back singing all the songs.

Thanks for the reply, but I can't think of any band that has brought in their previous vocalist to guest on an album with a 'new(er)' singer still oboard.

Not a "previous" vocalist, but Vortex sang on Arcturus - LMI and Ihsahn did vocals for one song TSM when Garm was the vocalist.

Well still pretty unusual for me.
I mean, you wouldn't have Iron Maiden getting Blaze to sing one song on their next album, with Bruce singing the rest.
Or Ripper doing a song on the next JP album?

Well if the band had wrote a song that was supposed to be on Virtual XI but didn't, and they really felt Blaze should sing it, then why not?

Well, some lucky ones are gonna hear the album today. If someone from this forum attends the listening party then hopefully he/she will post some impressions about Universal for us to read.
