Hahaha, I have a similar negative association with a song on that album - whichever the song is with "I...I can feel nothing...nothing at all...except for the pain" as the chorus, the progression in that section is almost identical to "Lean on me," which is NOT something I want a metal song to remind me of.

Not to track back in this post but "In Sorte Diaboli"? Really?? Great album and clear big production but where did the snare go in the mix? It's barely present. That just killed it for me.

Hmm, I'll have to listen again, I admit I don't often really pay attention to the snare when judging a mix (probably cuz I'm a guitarist first), but you summed it up; really huge and clear sounding, and I love the guitar tone (and the kicks I think sound good, that's one drum that I always notice)

Well, Arch Enemy is re-recording their old catalogue, Black Earth, Stigmata & Burning Bridges.
They're re-recording because the young fan-base they have now don't know those albums, and they want Angela on vocals, so they can play those songs now also again at live concerts.

But Nordstrom did those, but with what Nordstrom brings out now, I really hope he doesn't(!), and hope the flag will be handed to Andy..

Arch Enemy re-recording their old albums will be awesome imo.

My bass player had a great quote yesterday after I told him about the rerecording the old stuff:

"Yeah? Well let me know when they actually start playing that stuff live."

Gary even said that the new recording is a tribute to Paul and to the original album, by giving it the justice of a more up-to-date production. I have "Bonded By Blood" on vinyl. It's one of my favorite albums. Has been for more than 15 years. Will I buy the new one? You can bet your ass I will.

I saw Bring me the Horizon supporting Killswitch I think... along with the 20+ stone guy behind me, jumping up and down shouting 'YOU ARE ALL C***S', the highlight of my night was the lead singer saying 'Judge us by our music, not by our hairstyles, guys'.

He was just asking for that bottle of piss that promptly hit him in the face during the intro of the next song, cos their music was worse than their fuckin hairstyles.. Think he got hit with an orange, too, and pretty hard it seemed cos he was reeling.

Haha, true that - but re-recording doesn't necessarily have to mean changing anything, so I'm not too worried about the music itself being "updated." However, I just think it's a royal cop-out to re-record old stuff (though First Strike Still Deadly ruled so hard, so I guess I can't complain!)
