I am in for the Techwood for Friday and Saturday. It was very easy to switch my existing reservation over to the group rate. Thanks again Metalrose!
Hmmm... strange that they told me there were no King rooms left when I called the other day. I will have to give a call back this weekend and see whose end (their's or mine) the misunderstanding was on. Thanks again, Metal. I can't say that enough.UPDATE ON ROOMS:
AS OF TODAY OCTOBER 26th at 8:50 pm
WED. 24th- 9 King, 0 Queen rooms = 9 rooms remaining
THURS 25th- 9 King, 6 Queen rooms = 15 rooms remaining
FRIDAY 26th- 9 King, 6 Queen rooms = 15 rooms remaining
SAT 27th- 9 King, 6 Queen rooms = 15 rooms remaining
I'll get in contact with them on Monday or Tuesday to see if I can add some extra rooms. I don't want to go overboard, so currently I have 3 people that are unable to get the discounted rate for Wed night. (Dolamite S. Biffle, BlackRoseMetalHeart, and Diamond45) Is there anyone else that was not able to get the discounted rate for Wed night?
I'm pretty certain I got the same rate of $135 for all nights (Wednesday - Saturday), but I was told that I could get a room with 2 Queens or a single.
The original room that I booked, was a King, which they told me they did not have any available at the group rate. (I don't recall them saying that they already had the request for those rooms filled for the group rate.) They put a special request in for me to get a King room, but who knows what will happen with that.
So I hope this explanation makes things clear ... clear as mud, right?
--proud owner of an incredibly ancient hospital bed that doesn't seem to fit ANYTHING (twin, queen, king)...but it does have a hand-crank to elevate the ends or the middle.
Are you serious?? If anyone EVER accuses you of being a procrastinator, or anything of the sort, send them my way, and i'll straighten them up!
What the hell does this have to do with anything Paul?
It harkened back to the discussion of hotels' use of 'king, queen, twin' bed-sizes. A 'double' is usually two queen-size beds, although in some 5-star hotels you get two kings (that's a lotta mattress; requires a spacious room).
A 'single' room should be one king-sized bed, but motels and cheaper hotels skate by with one queen-size bed.
I encountered the mis-named 'twin' -- basically a one-person bed, so I guess it would work for conjoined twins -- in two European hotels (one in UK, one in Holland), but they're seldom used in American inns.
I just thought it was odd that my own bed seems to be neither fish nor fowl: two narrow to be a queen, too lengthy for twin bedding. I just improvise.
Sounds like dorm beds. They have a weird size too. Quick google search came up with this:
Quick Facts
* Dorm Twin Mattress Length: 75″ (Most Common Length)
I've sent an email to the person I've been working with. I'm kind of suprised I haven't heard back from her yet, but I'm assuming she is out of the office.
How far is this from Center Stage? I think this will be my option if I choose to go for IX.
Any update on this?
Thanks!
it is less than a mile...15 to 20 minute walk so i've heard.
