My first video "rate my mix" thread..... This is what the band put online, so that's what I'm sharing.

The band is named "Protokult" and it's my first Folk Metal project. Along with the usual heavy Guitar, Drums & Bass, we got to record all sorts of cool instruments like Recorder, Harp, Jawharp, Psaltry, Djembe, and numerous others. There were a lot of synth instruments as well, but we tried for real instruments whenever possible.

Harp is a BITCH to record, as it's insanely dynamic & you really have to stomp the living shit out of it with a compressor to get it to sit in a metal mix.

Musically, it's a really interesting blend: A Canadian band made up of Russian, Polish and Irish immigrants, and they all bring something to the table. It's certainly the first metal record I've ever made where we were arguing about how loud the Accordions should be!

Anyway, my mixes kick in at the 25 second mark: Have a listen & let me know what you think: BE SURE to click the 720hd link for the best audio stream!!
