Waste of $15.99

I agree that you are paying moneyfor something you can't do and that saying you have to do better than In Flames in order to bitch isn't fair.

However Your full of shit if you think they half assed it. This album is bad ass. Maybe its not as good as TJR or Colony or whatever thats your decision to make. Personally I think this one of their better albums On par with Colony or Clayman.

IMO The guitar work is very good.Maybe some of the solos could be longer. The subject matter is very intense and you can actually understand Anders. This is a natural progression of everything that In Flames has done since Lunar Strain. Sure overall its diffent.THATS BECAUSE LUNAR STRAIN WAS 12 YEARS AGO, ANDERS DOESNT SING "RRRR RRRR RRRR RRRR" THERE ACTUALLY WORDS NOW, AND PEOPLE DON'T WEAR MULLETS ANYMORE!!!!!!

Or maybe you have outgrown InFlames Or maybe they've Outgrown You.

They write the music they feel like writing and play as they see fit if you don't like the album fine don't buy it. And stop posting here bitching how they could of done better. This is a fan site not I'm gonna sit here and bitch site.
I'm so tired of people bitching that they don't like this album or R2R or STYE. The way I look at then you don't like In Flames and thats fine.

You would have had a right to complain if :
the album hadn't been on the net for 6 months prior to release.
If the band hadn't posted the album on their media player on the day of release.
And if decent record stores that actually carry InFlames didn't have listening stations.
Complaining you bought an album you don't like is like bitching you got AIDS when you didn't bother to wear a condom

:headbang: Amen to you! IN FLAMES for life

Finally someone else sees the light. This album is a huge pile of shit. I admit it's better than STYE and R2R but still nothing on the other albums.

You know what, I can't even say better luck next time because I don't care anymore!

But I'll stick around to bug the shit out of the threads and pay hommage to the older albums. :D

Bringer: Just curious did you change your mind about the album? If so Why?
I was in the "Thoughts of Come Clarity" thread and I saw some of your posts:
1.The beginning of the title track 'Come Clarity' is amazing. The acoustics are awesome.

2. The album sounds MUCH better than STYE but the damned clean vocals have Passenger written all over them.

From a first listen I like the album much better than STYE. Let's hope I'm not just too tired and am making this all up.

3. I need to listen to it again but the last 3-5 songs have awesome leads and double leads and back and forth leading in them. Fuck those are nice moments

4. So far Vanishing Light is my favorite song, I love the intro. The guitar melodies are kicking my ass so far.

5. I think it has the guitar sound of STYE, the clean vocals of Colony and the "short melodies" of Clayman.

6. I think this album is a step in the direction they should have followed after Clayman

Thus far, i'd definitely agree.

7. I think everyone will agree.

Now I know you never thought this was their best work so to speak but it seems you liked it and thought it was were the band should have gone after Clayman. Why did you change your mind? Just curious.

actually, no. i have the right to complain based on the fact that they released 5 amazing albums in a row, then got popular a little bit, then made radio friendly metal and converted the melodies from guitars to vocals. it wasnt a fluke that they made 5 great albums in a row. it shows they know how to construct and play proper melodeath metal.

I am not disagreeing with you that you they have changed over time. I won't argue with you about wether this album is good or crap or somewhere in between as they are both a matter of our opinions.

You know there are fans of In Flames who thank the band hasn't done it right since TJR. some think the end of InFlames came after Whoracle. Some Colony Some Clayman. Some fans think that anything before Colony blows ass because of the vocals. I am glad that Anders vocals continue to improve. Not that I disliked his vocals before. I personally think there are plenty of melodies and solos( abeit I did say they could have been longer)....Never anything wrong with longer solos.

If In Flames took the time to listen to what every Tom Dick and Harry had to say about their music and molded their next album based on those opinions. First with all the varying opinions I don't think there would be a new album. But if they could make an album based on those opinions Would that make them a better band? Or perhaps then and only then they would have sold out . Because no longer would they be making the music that wanted to play but playing what you tell them to play.

All I'm saying is the album was more than readily available to preview prior to purchase. So you didn't need to "waste" your money an album you don't enjoy. I also am pointing out that In Flames style has overgone several overhauls since they started . In fact I can't name two albums that are all the similar. And I have saw you post several times in several threads that you didn't enjoy the last two albums prior to this one. So you would have been better suited to demo the album before spending your money.

My last point was that this a fan site and its better bask in what we as individuals like about the band. For you if thats the old stuff then like I said celabrate the old stuff.etc. You are always entitled to your opinion and I respect your opinion and am not here to tell you that your wrong. But there is a specific thread for the opinions of the new album. Thats all.

Ok, I agree with most of that. Buying the album and saying it was a waste is pretty dumb considering all the ways to get albums these days so you can try before you buy...even the songs the band listed online.

But the album still is very, very weak compared to the first 5.

I've listened to this album 100+ times fully through already. I have to say this is up there with being my favorite In Flames album. At first I viewed this cd as coming from a different band, and that got me liking it more. Then after a few more listens I thought, "This is IN FLAMES". I lost my elitist point of view after R2R came out and I'm liking that a lot more nowadays too. I'm sure some of you think this is not what the band can do at their best.....but this is what they can do at thier most creative and artistic way possible. Every listen I heard something new, whether it be some really sweet lead under Anders vocals or some crazy stuff Daniel is doing on the drums.

For those of you that still find it hard to listen to this, give it one really good open minded listen. Free you mind, and just pay attention to this cd. It can't force itself for you to like it, but at least give it a try.

I like all of the In Flames releases. Come Clarity is my favorite. It's what IF does best all wrapped into one package.

It's not 1995 anymore. Get over it.

I love the old Metallica but hate the stuff from Load to the present. But you don't see me on the Metallica board crying about it. You fags complaining about the new IF sound and bitching and complaining are the real emo queers. GET OVER IT ALREADY YOU PUSSIES :yell:

It's been years since they've released a CD you like. What the hell are you still doing here?

Move on with your life. Do you cry for 8 years when a bitch dumps you:tickled:

This CD fucking sucked. Anders' Vocals ruined the album, and so did some of the riffs. It sounds like they're trying to sound like some shitty metalcore american band, especially the part after the chorus of Dead End.

I don't know.. I wonder why Anders changed his vocal style..
