What are your 2006 Metal predictions?

OK so here are some thoughts about 2006:

- The Locust Years is released (although all those fuckers on myspace seem to have heard it already so I think its leaked - can anyone hook me up?)
- 2005 missed a 10/10 album along the lines of Mabool (2004), The August Engine (2003), Weiland (2002), etc. so 2006 should have TWO 10/10 releases, one of which should be The Locust Years
- I'm hoping to discover all the better 'hidden' 2005 releases in 2006
- The next Early Days DVD...of course this includes the long awaited *official* DVD release of Live After Death and probably Maiden England
- Iron Maiden on tour (either on new album or next Early Days DVD -- lets hope the latter because they'll ONLY stick to material from Powerslave thru' Seventh Son)
- King Diamond on tour supporting his new album. I will not miss King Diamond again.
- England win the World Cup

:kickass:

I saw a cd/dvd version of Fate's "Melissa" at some shop today for $25. know what's on the dvd or where i'd find it cheaper? still don't own a single KD album!

Jeez, you really should have Melissa and Don't Break the Oath by MF, and Them and Abigail by KD. JayK will say you should also have The Puppet Master (which admittedly was really good).

Get on the ball already.

Agalloch
Tool
Meshuggah
Hammers?????????????
Slayer
Scald

looking forward to those. you know, i listened to God Hates Yer Ma for the first time in a few years last night, that album is perfectly okay. not great, but hey, Tom Araya is pissed off and Kerry King murdered a small legion of babies during the recording so what else do you want?

i really dug ummmmm... shit there was one song i really liked on Diabolus. toward the end, had the creepy Slayer clean guitar repetition thing. Desire i think? and Point was pretty okay too.

I can think of at least five CDs from 2005 better than each of those. By the way, I wasn;t aware you thought that "August Engine" was 10/10.

This Godless Endeavor = 10/10
This Godless Endeavor >>>>>>> Mabool, The August Engine, Weiland

What is "The Locust Years"?

Sorry, but I tried again and again with that album. I'd put it at 7/10 at best. No new ground really broken, relies too heavily on the cliches Nevermore has created for their own sound. Sentient 6 was my favourite track. The lyrics on some of the tracks are so clunky and silly sounding that they kinda ruin the songs for me.

Nevermore for me: DNB > Dead Heart > Politics > Godless Endeavour/Enemies of Reality (need to hear the remaster though)

Haven't heard the s/t or other material.

You've got to know by now that you have to just shrug your shoulders at Zod rating a Nevermore album. :tickled:
