I think more or less every deathmetal band is uninteresting, except for OPETH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, they aren't death, but they mix a little death into their sound. the band Death is also alright, although I've never been a big fan of them.
There are a few songs by some bands that I like:
Hypocrisy "Roswell 47" and the ballads on that album
Dismember "Dreaming in red"
Dark Tranquility's "The gallery" album is also okay, although I never listen to it. If I have to choose a death album to listen to, this would probably be one of them.
