All the "classic" music that "everyone who listens to modern metal should worship" like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple etc.... :erk: and my mother liked grunge too :yuk:

my dad likes Pink Floyd...

and only Pink Floyd....

oh. no wait... he likes Roger Waters too...
heheh!

My parents listened to about everything. They were painfully mainstream. I must say however, that some songs of which they say they were their favourites show good taste.

My late grandfather used to like Davy Berry's "You've got a strange effect on me". I like that song as well. And some others of which I can't remember the name strangely enough. You have those French youngsters with their "Non, non rien est changé" or sth.

My mother liked CCR a lot btw.

My mother listens mainly to prog and classic rock, she likes some classical and loves ulver, other electronica, various black-metal and death-metal.

My father likes classical and some deathmetal like vader

My mum and dad used to play Disco the most - Earth Wind and Fire etc..

But my dad also played me Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and Led Zepellin.

He also loved dance and trance, and for a while i was really into it .. now i only vaguely like some of it.

Dad had very good taste (huge influence): Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Queen, The Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge

Stepmom had really good taste (huge influence): Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, Hendrix, Santana

Mom had questionable taste: Kenny Rogers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Nana Mouskouri, The Clancy Brothers

Stepdad has bizarre, but interesting taste: Astor Piazolla, Philip Glass, Paul Hindemith

My mum likes stuff like David Bowie & bauhaus, which I also like. She also likes soul music which I cannot stand, it gives my a headache, strangely enough!

My parents listened to classical and jazz, and my Mom did listen to some rock music of the time.

My Dad has always listened to classical. When the Beatles first came out, my Mom liked them, along with other British Invasion Bands.

My mom liked and still likes everything, being from Argentina as we are, she appreciates our national roots like folklore and tango... you know (the well known Astor Piazolla or Polaco Goyeneche) if not, things like Queen, Neil Diamond, The Ramones (:erk: I know), Pink Floyd, Frank Sinatra she didn't care for any kind of style out there, so... and my father was a rock journalist or something, so as my mom tells, he didn't bring music at her house cause he was a jerk and I still don't know what he liked to listened. Screw him lol.
My stepfather, was an Opera singer before the II World War in Italy, so being Roman + being close minded as he always be, he only likes Opera. And no, he wasn't a big inspiration.
My mom helped me a bit. She's a godess. :) At least she taught me to not get stuck in one style and try to listen everything, cause as she always says: Music is your mood.

my dad is not really that into music, he likes frank sinatra (as do i) and show stuff and like, "lite rock"--again, not anything he has to work for, if you know what i mean...
my mom is opera/classical but she listened to lots of my music as i grew up--she really likes david bowie, the doors, queen and, oddly, black sabbath (if you knew my mom, this would crack you up), but her own collection is pretty much all classical and musical theater/film stuff.

My mom doesnt listen to much music; my Dad listens to a lot of the same stuff I listen to: classic rock, blues, folk, reggae, and some classical. I am just a bit more modern; he isn't very open minded about modern music.

Dad- some classical and modern christian rock, other than that, he's not really a music person anymore, although back when he was young, he was big into rock/metal and some prog bands like Yes.
Mom- rock n'roll all the way baby! She was like one of those hippies back in the 70's and listened to alot of Led Zepplin, Heart, Journey, the Beatles, etc.

I grew up on Led Zepplin. My mom is my biggest influence of my rock & metal tastes today.
