what do you think about soad's armeniean genocide clip?

A guy with a Burzum avatar complaining about another band's interest in the history of their culture?

Note that Varg's interest in Norwegian culture doesn't begin and end with a martyr complex about events that may or may not have occurred 80 years ago. These guys are desperate to be victims, despite the fact that they're multimillionaire rockstars. Go choke a Turk's dick, you whiny faggots.

ok... "our people were slaughtered 80 odd years ago, but fuck, thats ok coz we've been around since before christ. that makes everything that much better!"

does it really matter about their stance on the genocide? listen to the music for the music for fucks sake.

It's in keeping with their generally whiney music and outlook. Victims make lousy music, especially victims of the self-appointed kind.

Soad is fucking dumb, stupid, you can't tell the difference between the riffs and the noise of a door slamming, the singer is a parrot with down syndrome, everything about them is comedy, they try too hard, they suck

I like System of a Down. One of the first heavy bands I listened to.

And Armageddon's Child, wtf? It was 90 years ago. But that's beside the point. There are people walking this earth whose fathers and grandfathers were killed in that genocide. The worst part of all is that Turkey says it never happened. It'd be like Germany denying the holocaust. It's despicable, and because of it, Turkey has never had to do anything about its crime against humanity. So stop saying get over it. If my grandpa had died at the hands of some bastard government, I'd want justice too.

its a very important part of history, and i support the fact that they are bringing it to the attention of all the ignorant ppl in this world. The fact that genocide is still occurring in this day in age proves that these kind of images need to be re-expressed to the public. The only way these things are going to stop is if the world knows about it.

I think they should get over the 'Armenian Genocide.' Even if it did happen, it was 85 years ago. Time to worry about things that actually matter.

you act like we have been pummeled with news on this genocide and that we should forget about it. Thats a load of bullshit and a typical response of ignorant person that has no idea of what they are talking about.

I was thinking of the Pontic Greek 'genocide' which took place in the early 1920s.

There are people walking this earth whose fathers and grandfathers were killed in that genocide.

So? Quit whining.

If I had millions of dollars, I wouldn't be bitching about something that didn't even happen to me.

It's the second most studied 'genocide' in history (with only slightly less literature than the Holohoax itself).

Seriously. You can't get more bigotted than that. Denying the holocaust is a federal crime in Germany. You're despicable, Armageddon's Child.

My great grandparents barely escaped Germany before the holocaust. I wouldn't be here otherwise. So fuck you, you self-righteous dolt. Go to hell.

EDIT: Worst of all, the fact that Turkey denies it implies that they'd do it again if they had the chance.

get your facts straight. turkey does not deny any killings or the relocation of armenians, but denies the attempt of genocide against armenians.

here's a site that will broaden your view, landberk:

http://www.ermenisorunu.gen.tr/english/intro/index.html

dont forget to look at the ALBUM link on the left to see the photographs of turkish citizens armenians slaughtered in this genocide. if those dont make you tell the difference between the german holocaust and this, nothing will. cheers

I hate people who can't get over past genocide and deaths that are related to their religion or ethnic groups. Everyone has had to deal with the sameshit so get over yourself and it.

... what are you going to do build a time machine ?

thats so wrong. just as much as i try to defend my country in such matters, i also defend people's right to discuss such atrocities. this holds true for jews, armenians, algerians, azeris, indonesians, cambodians, muslims in bosnia, tutsis and all other nations/peoples who have been mistreated.

ask yourself: would you be so cool about it if your grandparents had been killed?

therefore, i never mind people who try to engage me in critical discussions such as this one. i think it's much more humane to at least debate, rather than say "get over it."

Well, fortunately, the United States is a democracy that actually protects freedom of speech from the whims of the mob. Enjoy your totalitarian thought-police state, Landork.

My great grandparents barely escaped Germany before the holocaust.

And my great uncle died at Auschwitz (he got drunk and fell off the guard tower - oops). Your point?

EDIT: Worst of all, the fact that Turkey denies it implies that they'd do it again if they had the chance.

Or, it implies that the 'genocide' took place during a period of what was essentially civil war, and that most of the deaths occurred due to internal population movements during a time of armed conflict.
