Since there's all these 'what do you think of <country> metal scene?' I thought I'd chip in.

There are some bloody great bands from Aus, in all genres. What do you's think?

Yep, Fuck...I'm Dead rule, especially live. As do:

Vaginal Carnage (heavy, downtuned goregrind)
Captain Cleanoff (old-school pure grindcore)
Shagnum (awesome mix of death, grind and doom)
The Day Everything Became Nothing (groovy, catchy goregrind)
Kutabare (gorey death/grind)
Garbage Guts (blasting goregrind)
Intense Hammer Rage (chunky techdeath/broodle DM)
Undinism (grindcore)
Blood Duster (grind/rock)
Agents of Abhorrence (tech grind like Discordance Axis)
Filth (grind/rock)

and of course, the most pure evil band to ever come out of Australia - NAZXUL!! I'd imagine a few people here are into them....if they're kvlt enough......

Astriaal (sombre melodic black metal)
Urgrund (black metal chaos)
Gospel of the Horns (blackened thrash)
Oni (brutal death)
Nazxul (old style black metal)
Atomizer (rock and roll style blackened thrash)
Carbon (black metal)
Portal (chaotic and erratic avant-garde death metal)

I'd especialy reccomend Astriaal and Portal

I keep getting mixed up with the Australian Portal and the Portal project that the Cynic members formed after Cynic...I can't find the Australian Portal's music anywhere, it's a bitch and a half...

Either way, Psycroptic is awesome stuff. Allegience were a WA band that toured with Testament, Halford and Judas priest back in the Bay Area Thrash days. Some other bands are:

Alchemist(Metaphysical Thrash/Death, it's got eastern influences)
The Pod People(Doom metal)
Psychonaut(thrash metal)
Sakkuth(Gothenburg-ish but more aggressive)
Vespers Descent(Gothenburgish)
Pathogen(thrash/black/death...fuck knows it's pretty cool stuff though)
Enforce(old school thrash)
Devolved(don't really know, industrial death? Abit like Meshuggah's old stuff)
The Berzerker(I don't really like them, but I bet most of you know who I'm talking about)
