What if the next Nevermore cd had 3 guitar solos total.

i guess i would only NOT enjoy them anymore ... if they`re goin to do some ... nu.metal stuff or something :| but as this will NEVER EVER happen ... for sure :D but what would jeff do on stage then???! :|

:ill:

I don't care about the solos. They are cool and fitting and impressive in Nevermore's songs, but they don't make or break the band for me.

What if the next album is called "Midnight Trolls Atop The Icy Fjords Enacting a Gauntlet of Blasphemous Fury"

Would you still enjoy it then?

loomis isn't joining metaliica, therefor he will play solo's.

and even if he didnt... i like them for alot more than just the guitar work. Van kicks ass, Warrel sings like none other... so yeah.. I'd still listen

Loomis is one of my all time biggest influences.. It's not just his solos but his writing style that blows my mind, Not to mention Warrel's mind blowing singing, Van's amazing drumming, Jim's tight, kickass bassplaying and now of couse, Symth's killer axe work. If there weren't solos, that'd just mean that song doesn't need a solo, so yes.. I'd still enjoy it.

Absolutely. I don't love them for guitar solos. For the most part, I think they're overrated.

I feel a lot of metal bands these days throw them in there just to be throwing them in there.

A lot of my favorite guitar solos are some of the easiest stuff compared to most underground stuff. The solo by Phil Demmel on Machine Head's "In The Presence of My Enemies" at around the 4:05 mark doesn't shred, but it fits the song extremely well while adding another layer of atmosphere. Same with Fear Factory's "New Promise" at around the 3:11 mark. Extremely simple yet very good.

Although my absolute favorite solo is Jeff's solo on River Dragon. That's just plain badass.

You all can vote me off the board now. :p

Indeed, my favorite solos are slow and really aren't too hard to play.

1) Pain of Salvation- People Passing By ending solo.

2) Green Carnation- Light of Day, Day of Darkness solo, around 41 minutes.
