What is the meaning of your nimckname?

When I first registered with UM, it was to post on the Opeth forum. It was hard to find a reasonably feminine name that I could base off of an Opeth song, but a reference to the song "Black Rose Immortal" worked. The funny part is, people STILL thought I was a guy. (That happens to me a lot online for whatever reason, and I get a kick out of seeing how long it'll go on before people wise up.)

Of course, I left the Opeth forum because there was a grand total of like 5 mature people in that place; one of them got me into Symphony X.

The face is mine, yes... :)

Or is it just the face of my avatar for the post-modern times? :Saint:

And if your nickname is you, i bow before your highness, cause i am not a god like Chrono or sth :notworthy

I've used the nick Chief_B for like 10 years. It's a spin on an African tale of Chief Boterlassie(?) who kidnapped local villagers and ate them.

melding of Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai. Actually comes from how I once described Michael Romeo's guitar playing to someone. I actually don't really like the nick anymore since I'm not really into Yngwie or Vai much these days, but everyone knows me by this handle, and when I tried to switch it on the Blind Guardian forum a while back it just confused people, so it stays.
I can't even remember the last time anyone ever actually identified you by your username. Ever since I came here, it's always been "Matt Moliti", and I think you've only actually been identified as Yngvai, was... never, as far as I know.

Well he was here 3 years before you...

yeah, you could PM Deron to change it to your name.

I did  (I was formerly Silent Song)

There is a name change section, which is where I changed mine. I was "metalman" or something.

lmao.

I got my name off some evil godlike avatar d00d in a Dragonlance fantasy book, but everybody here knew that.

Mine's just a play on the color of my 'axe.' No mystery there. I also remembered the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight when I came up with that. The 'whirring of the ax on the grindstone' was a cool image, so it all seemed like a good fit.
