What Kind of Metalhead Are You? (Link)

I feel your pain, shit is a lifelong hobby because doing it in too short a time span will send your ass broke.
I just recently started painting and army building again.

What army do you play man? And got any porn of your paint jobs?

Uh oh, we got another painter. I need to post pics of the Ravenwing bikes I did. As cool as Warhammer is, no way I'm painting a million minis like that. I'll stick with 40k.

My camera is Michael Bay right now, but once I buy a new one I'll probably take some pictures.
Used to play Space Wolves but I've decided to pass on 40k and instead build a dwarfs army.
Slow process but getting there, yourself?

She was doing Tyranids at one point iirc. Or maybe it was Tau.

I have a 2k+ Guard army (scuse me "Astra Militarum") and maybe 600-80pts of DA/Ravenwing. I have some Tau models that I haven't done anything with and no idea if/when I will.

I think if I painted/played any miniatures not 40k, Bolt Action looks interesting without being absurdly expensive or time-consuming like another GW product.

I used to be into warhammer- just the opposite really. I hated painting but loved the tactical bits of combat. I played orcs at the time, but if I ever came back I'd have to go Dwarves, Vampire Counts, or Lizardmen. Maybe Skaven. I'd have to check into the strengths/weaknesses of the armies. Orcs were too damn unpredictable with that animosity rule. Dem Trolls sure were the shit though.

I'm thinking of building a skaven army, so I can play on both sides of morality.

But I don't particularly love painting either, if the prospect of individuality in your army wasn't so important to me I'd probably advocate for pre-painted pieces.

Nice!
Do you still game?

More like just started rather than still. I built my army first before ever really playing. Just starting to try and get casual stuff going. I've done some "kill team" stuff at the FLGS, but with just the GW rules kill teams are pretty broken and right now the FLGS won't shift to some of the more balanced 3rd party variations.

Recent but blurry picture of a 1k pt setup with a contingent of Dark Angels guarding my wyvern battery. My actual HQ and additional vet squad is semi out of sight and my Battle Tank is on the far side of the table.

eh, other than a metal shirt here and there or maybe Mjolnir around my neck. Im pretty normal looking.
If I didnt haven to worry about money I'd probably end up getting some tattoos
short hair FTW!
And goddamn, always shorts when possible! Fuck long pants!

I had one of those, although I think it was just those gold armored guys vs black armored guys. We let our pet quails use it as a home and when they did we threw it away because of all the bird shit.

Yeah Noume's right, Nids. I'm one of those who dig playing more than the painting, I get too indecisive. Half my shit is a steam punk theme in lots of warplock bronze which I contemplated calling 'hive fleet metallicus', the other half is very visceral and gory with flesh tones.

That being said, I gotta admit the fantasy models are far more my style. Wish I knew people who played. What's the differences in combat or is it basically identical?

Some of my genestealers, usually run them as elite ymargls

Instead of TL;DRing the fuck out of you, I'll post this.

It's probably the clearest articulation of the main differences.

Awesome paint job btw, I prefer playing too in the end, the idea of all that effort going towards dust collectors is a sad one, but I love all the creative aspects of it almost as much.
