First of all:
I know used stuff is "used" and the worth decreases, no matter if it's a plugin or an amp...

But what the hell, I've got messages with something like that in it:
"yeah, u know, we all have no money and I can give you XY€"(what was like 300€ less than I asked for).

And that was one of the better offers

Is the used market really going this road?
Some years ago a Mesa(for example) was a fairly consistent asset.

Do you also get ridiculous(and ballsy) price offers?

When I was trying to sell my JCM800 on ebay, I would constantly get messages from people saying;

"I can buy this for £450 right now, you should really drop the price because it's way above the other ones on ebay"

Yes, I am perfectly happy to accept an offer well below the asking price, thank you for liberating me of this burden.

Like every other person selling something - you set the price/time to sell ratio you find acceptable. Just like most looking to buy something, people will make unrealistic offers hoping that very same ratio has reached the point that they can get a "deal". The funny thing about it is if it was you getting the "deal", you'd be posting a thread about the absolute steal you accomplished

Please note - my "you" above was not about any particular person, just a general observation.

You set the acceptable amount you will take, but it's a bit unrealistic to think low ball offers won't happen because people feel obliged to pay what an item might be worth.

In most cases if someone is willing to wait for the right offer they will get close to what they are asking, if not the quick sale hunters will tend to get the low ball price (or much less than the seller hoped for).

it's not good for your health to worry about shit down on this level. it might get annoying, but basically they aren't doing anything wrong, because there is nothing wrong in asking for a lower price or better service. it's a different story whether or not you actually comply (i most certainly wouldn't), but seriously, don't waste your energy on stuff like this.

I recently was trying to unload a $10 item, to big to be bothered shipping due to the price. Kid goes "if you deliver I will give you the full price."

Given it would take $10 in gas just to truck it over to his location (lol), I said "hell no man, it's a $10 item. I don't negotiate on $10 items, if you want it come get it for $10.

My experiences with second hand dealing have pretty much always been horrible in either direction.
I really don't get it, but in this country, whenever I look for a piece of second-hand gear, the only guys selling it ask MORE THAN THE STORE PRICE. WTF? And ofcourse 0 reactions to e-mail in general.

Also, multiple times I've had people that didn't even seem like they wanted to sell the item, eventough I offered them the full price. They keep dragging on and on in their emails and at some point I just give up. Mind you, this is before making any payments, so there is no point to it at all.

Add the scammers and dodgy types, and you can probably see why I prefer to buy things new nowadays. I'd rather pay 10% more and get what I want + guarantee, instead of that bullshit.

And yea, when you sell something, people expect the cosmos in mint condition + glitterstickers for 20 euros.
