What the fuck America. Just... what the fuck.

Anyone who wants federal government provided anything (domestically) is a ignorant moron who obviously doesn't understand economics, politics, greed, or human nature.

I guess all veterans and people over 65 who want health care are pretty ignorant then.

You just grouped apples and oranges. Veterans earned health coverage, since the large majority of their problems are due to the bullshit the military puts the human body through. It wasn't just "handed" to them. VA already takes care of that anyway, and it falls under the DoD budget IIRC.

That is a completely different situation than taking from one group to give healthcare to another group who didn't do shit.

I don't think most people really understand just how massively in debt the U.S. actually is. The $11.7 trillion debt is only a small part of our total liabilities. When you add up the unfunded liabilities of Medicare, Social Security and the liabilities incurred from Fannie May and Freddie Mac, our debt is ~$70 trillion. Our government has simply placed these other liabilities in completely separate treasury accounts so that they can spend even more money while maintaining the false pretense that our national debt is under 60% of our GDP, when, in fact, it is well over 100%. Of course, having a debt that is over 100% of our GDP means that we'll be paying on the interest alone for years (most likely decades) to come.

So, yeah, anyone who plans on relying on our government for their medical expenses and retirement is completely ignorant as is anyone who supports such expansion of government spending. It's akin to an Enron employee increasing their 401K because that's exactly what our government's become - Enron. Funny thing is, Libertarians have been predicting this would happen for a long time. They've been yelling, "Fraud!" for decades.

I just saw that 'I Pledge...' video and I swear our nation has taken a turn for the surreal.
Here it is for anyone interested:

I don't know if this old news, or not.

Your post is just full of ignorance, yet you have the audacity to call everyone else a moron!?

1)Ever heard of Keynesian policy?

2)Greed? You are saying that without government interference we would witness less greed in businesses etc...? You are telling me that without health laws in restaurants, mandatory breaks, minimum wages...we would have less greed?!

I'm not approving full government intervention, but I think there has to be a handful of it in order to have a healthy economy..

BTW as a former student of economics, I find it so hard to believe that Classical Economists still exist...there is just too much evidence to disregard the importance of Keynesian Policies!

If anything I see it as the debate between religion and evolution..wake up people...evolution has its flaws sure (an organism magically appeared in the ocean?) but there is so much evidence for evolution like vestigial etc that comparing it to Adam and Eve and a bearded deity throwing around some shapes for a week is just lunacy

1) Keynesian economics doesn't work. We are witnessing it not working now. If you don't understand that then you are ignorant. Our savings rate is shitty, our debt as individuals and as a nation is through the roof, defaults are and have been skyrocketing, unemployment is high ( even higher than the official numbers) and we have 2 more mortgage sector collapses coming. Good job Keynes followers.

2) What do health requirements have to do with social programs? Nice strawman.

3) Classic economics always works. Keynesian policies amount to nothing more than absurd monetary shell games.
