best doom metal i've heard yet is Paradise Lost from their first album called Lost Paradise..supreme Doom at it's finest....not much for funeral doom though unless it's part of an intro or outro to a little faster paced metal album

"Lost Paradise" is decent, but there is FAR better death/doom... Anathema and My Dying Bride was much better with their respective first albums. For later bands, Evoken & Indesinence stick out...

Not funeral doom but if you want to hear the best doom album listen to Cathedral 'forest of equilibrium', which in my opinion is the best doom album EVER.

Shape of Despair has to be heard to be believed, Pasi Koskinen has such a voice, sound's like the thunder closing, proper funeral doom

Dave Matthews Band is incredible. I'd much rather listen to them than "funeral doom" metal any day

I would agree with you, except you're totally wrong.

Considering that "Funeral Doom" metal is one of the most obscure and hardest to listen to genres of metal, i sincerely doubt that the "industry" has any intent on "capitalizing" on it.

I guess my real point is that there are too many subgenres and classifications in metal these days.And believe me, SOMEONE wants to make money off of it.The fact that it remains one of the more elusive subgenres simply means that the someone in question had the wrong plan.

As for funeral doom, it is good, don't get me wrong.
