I am certain that I have heard this term more than once, so what is this shit? Or is it just some bullshit some motherfuckers made up out of boredoom?

It basically refers to black metal, like recent Marduk, where it is just played with emphasis on speed and sounding angry.

no you're wrongVelvet Creation said:I have to disagree with you. Norsecore is a term used to define Ildjarn's (Norway, hence "norse") sound which is a pure mix of punk beats with an extremely harsh and raw BM vocal style. I think somebody used this term to avoid the "Black Hardcore" or "Hardcore Black Metal". I never actualy heard any other band being called like that.
Even Marduk's early albums are pure morbid black metal sounding nothing like Ildjarn.

the correct and only definition of norsecore is stuff like dark funeral and marduk (especially panzer division m.), where most traditional values of black metal have been dumbed down & replaced with simplistic lyrics focusing on comic book style "satanism", hate and such, and where the music focuses on being fast and "brutal" to levels almost approaching grindcore -- hence the name
I concur. I'm honestly unfamiliar with the term norsecore, but when i think of Marduck I think of Doom influenced black metal. But I understand what Erik is saying. both of those bands have put way too much effort into being "blackmetal." Perhaps an underground Cradle of Filth?Stormwatch said:Recent Marduk isn't all that fast....
