What the hell is this terrible popping noise?

Kind of reminds me of when I used to have jitter or some clock related issue with my AD converters. And they were really nice RME converters. I cant remember if I made my audio card the Master and the 2 RME converts slaves or what but either way that was my problem and it was resolved by making sure I had a proper Master Clock. I may have even added some BNC cables to connect the clocks together instead of relying on the Optical ADAT.

Just a suggestion to consider.

Oh and the strangest thing I just remembered is it mainly happened on the Guitar or bass tracks only! Something about the stringed instruments that the clock got nasty with. Soon as I made the clock changes it went away but it was always on the guitar or bass tracks for me. Thought it was interesting that you solo'd a stringed instrument with that problem and its all coming back to me now.

Often this is a much looked over topic. However, the word clock pop and the pickup pop are two different sounds. This is a pickup pop.

Yep, lowered the pickup and it seems to be doing better now. Thanks for the quick fix guys. Totally overlooked it since you really can't see it hitting the pickup (seemed low enough) since it oscillates so quickly.
