I remember years ago there were TV shows such as Headbanger's Ball, Uranium, etc. where I could flip on the TV and watch metal music videos. Where are music videos even promoted now a days? Band's Youtube or facebook pages? Looks to me like metal/rock is dying :(

I think metal is doing just fine. a lot of bands are making music videos and posting them on their official sites as well as facebook and myspace. Yes it would be nice if there was a place where we could watch videos in a old MTV style show.

I remember when kids complained about bands being too commercial, too much posers around, etc
Now it's about the scene dying, not selling enough..

There's just no pleasing everybody

channel V here in australia plays a lot of heavy stuff still. have some friends which have debuted their music videos on there

Amazingly I still see people complain about bands being mainstream when they actually only sell 4 figures per album. There's no accounting for ignorance though.

Lots of music videos these days. With the advent of DSLR technology, bands can easily fund their own. It's far easier to get a video onto YouTube than onto Television, however.

YouTube is great for the simple fact that you can get away with a lot more than on national TV. There's no FCC/government censorship breathing down your neck. Hell, even if you do have too much T&A, they'll still play it (you won't get any advertising, however.)

Dying? Hardly.
